Learning Together for Success Conference


The Learning Together for Success conference is an annual conference devoted to First Nations, Métis and Inuit education in Alberta. This conference provides participants with the most current research in this topic as well as opportunities to hear first hand from First Nations, Métis and Inuit community educators and leaders. This conference is held alternately in northern and southern Alberta and is co-hosted by Alberta Education and an Alberta regional consortium. 


National Aboriginal Day


June 21st has become an important day for Aboriginal Canadians as an opportunity to express great pride in the richness and diversity of Aboriginal cultures and to celebrate this day with family, neighbours, friends and visitors.   Métis Week


The third week in November marks a number of activities celebrating Métis culture in Canada, including events commemorating the November 16th anniversary of Louis Riel's death. In Alberta contact the Métis Nation of Alberta or the Métis Settlements General Council to find out more about Métis cultural events this week and throughout the year. 


Mentorship in FNMI Education Conference 2008 


The Mentorship in FNMI Education Conference 2008 will take place at the Marriott Hotel at River Cree Resort Edmonton (Enoch First Nation) December 8 and 9, 2008.  This conference will focus on disseminating information around the positive impact of mentorship programs and initiatives on FNMI student success.
